Artificial intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a set of technological tools and algorithms that provide us with predictions, recommendations, and solutions for changing digital and real-world environments based on various data. In general, it is supposed to perform tasks that were previously thought to be performed only by humans. AI consists of two main subsets: machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL).

The essence of both is to learn to distinguish between different things. Machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence that helps systems learn from data without any explicit human intervention. ML uses various algorithms that utilize data to figure out how to improve, predict, and describe data. Deep learning is a type of artificial intelligence and a machine learning method based on the concept of artificial neural networks. Such networks help machines learn from data, especially unstructured data. It is most commonly used in computer vision, image and speech recognition.

Artificial intelligence has now become so widely used that there is hardly a single industry that hasn’t already tested AI.Healthcare. Artificial intelligence is unlikely to replace doctors in the near future. However, it can and has already started to help them in their work.

This is especially true when it comes to diagnosing various diseases and detecting them at early stages, as visible signs of the disease may appear too late. In the long run, this will help make the treatment process as personalized as possible.

Business. The use of neural networks can reduce the time for making certain decisions and forecasts and replace entire departments.

For example, Google uses AI to check apps in the Play Market, and banks use it to decide whether to provide loans or not. Another way of using AI that is expected to be very promising is to analyze the market and predict changes in it. In the long run, it will help to identify hidden trends, which will result in a significant competitive advantage.

Entertainment. Artificial intelligence has long been used by leading streaming platforms and social networks. The use of AI allows analyzing current trends, consumer preferences, and predicting future ones. It is also thanks to the analytics performed by AI that users receive recommended movie or music selections based on their individual choices.
