Weblog

A weblog is an online journal, an online diary, the main content of which is systematically added entries. Entries contain text, photos, graphics, or multimedia. Blog posts are usually short and grouped in reverse chronological order. Most often, blogs are public, with readers who engage in a debate with the blog author through comments on the entry or on their personal blog. Comments on a blog have made it a means of online communication that surpasses e-mail, forums, and chat rooms in a number of ways. Blogs can be personal, where the author shares his or her thoughts, experiences, and interests, or professional, where materials on a specific topic are published, such as technology, fashion, cooking, etc.
